In 1977, Charles Minson got his first camera and put it to work as a photo journalist on a college newspaper. After few photos and articles, he became the photo editor. He was in charge of all the photos that went into the paper and worked closely with the layout editor. He found he was in love with photography!
Minson started working as a freelance photographer in 1978, and he sold his first photo that summer. Ever since that time he has been in the photographic industry in some way.
He attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology in 1979 to pursue a degree in photography, and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Art - Photography. After graduation he worked in several photographic labs and also worked on twelve projector slide shows.
By 1992, Minson found himself back in college, this time graduating from Simpson College with a Bachelors Degree in business management.
In 2001 Minson officially opened the doors of Minson Photographics. He is a well-rounded photographer who loves taking photos for any type of assignment. He is as comfortable capturing life's shared moments — such as during a wedding or a corporate party — as he is discovering the personal expression of a graduating senior or a newly-engaged couple.
Whether your needs are large or small, Minson Photographics is your best value in central Iowa.
